Common Notarized Documents
- Travel consent letters for a child traveling abroad with one parent or a relative. Mexico in particular asks for one when a minor travels without both parents.
- Single status or no-impediment affidavits, so you can marry in another country.
- Affidavits of identity or name, explaining different spellings across documents.
- Letters of invitation and financial support for visa applications.
- Company letters, such as employment verification or authorization to sign.
Already Notarized Somewhere Else?
If a California notary already notarized your document, we can take it straight to the apostille stage. Check that the notary certificate is complete: the notary’s seal, signature, commission details, and the venue (state and county) all need to be there, and the wording must be in English. Missing pieces are the most common reason for rejection, and we check them before submitting.
Documents notarized in another state have to be apostilled by that state.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you write the affidavit for me?
We cannot give legal advice or draft legal documents. Many foreign consulates publish a template, and the person asking for the document usually has one; bring that and we will notarize and apostille it.
Does a travel consent letter need an apostille?
Not always. Some airlines and border officials accept a notarized letter alone, while others, and some countries, want the apostille. If the trip matters, the apostille removes the doubt.
My notary made a mistake. Can it be fixed?
A defective notarization usually has to be redone with a new signature. We can do that at the office the same day.
