State vs. Federal Apostille
The type of apostille your document requires depends on who issued it, a California state authority or a U.S. federal authority. Here’s how to tell the difference.
Issued by California
State Apostille
Required for documents issued by California state or county authorities, such as vital records, court documents, and notarized documents signed by a California notary. These are processed through the California Secretary of State.

Pricing FAQ
Are there any government fees on top of your service fee?
No. Our per-document price ($110 state, $120 federal) already includes the government apostille fee. The only extras are the options you choose (notarization, rush, same-day, return shipping), and you see the exact total before you pay.
Do you charge per document or per apostille?
We charge per apostille. If you have three documents that each need an apostille, the fee applies to each one individually.
What does "excluding shipping" mean?
Return shipping via USPS Priority Mail (tracked and insured) is billed at actual cost. We'll confirm the shipping fee when you submit your request.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit cards, Zelle, and cash for in-office drop-offs. Payment is collected before document submission.
Is rush service available?
For California state apostilles, yes: rush processing in 3–5 business days (+$100/document), or same-day processing (+$150/document, documents must be with us before 10am, subject to availability). Federal apostilles are processed by the U.S. Department of State in 7–12 business days (not including shipping) and cannot be rushed or expedited.
